Second Chance Reentry, Employment and Justice Fair Aims to Open Doors in Steelton

STEELTON, Pa. (March, 2026) — A free, community-focused event this weekend is offering job opportunities, legal help and reentry resources to residents across the region.

The Second Chance Reentry, Employment & Justice Fair is set for Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Christ Cornerstone Academy at 747 N. Front Street in Steelton. The event is open to the public and welcomes job seekers, families and employers alike.

Hosted by State Rep. David A. Madsen of the 104th Legislative District, the fair is designed to connect attendees with employers and provide support for individuals impacted by the justice system. Organizers say the event brings together services aimed at reducing barriers to employment and successful reentry into the community.

Among the offerings at the fair are job opportunities with local employers, expungement and pardon assistance, legal services and resume-building support. Such events are part of a growing trend nationwide to help individuals with criminal records obtain stable work and access essential support services. These community fairs often also include workshops and resource tables presenting a variety of social, employment and legal resources, as advocates push for stronger second-chance employment efforts.

Second Chance events like this one are frequently tied to broader “second chance” and fair-chance employment initiatives, which aim to bridge gaps in opportunity for justice-impacted individuals. These initiatives encourage employers to consider hiring qualified workers regardless of past convictions, provide connections to legal assistance for record clearing and help participants build critical job search skills.

The event is free of charge and all community members are encouraged to attend. Advance registration may be required for some services such as expungement or pardon assistance, with QR codes available on promotional materials for attendees to sign up in advance.

For more information, residents are encouraged to contact Rep. Madsen’s office.
